A magic month at Deauville

With ten wins at the tracks of Deauville & Clairefontaine in the month of August, Fabrice was the 3rd leading trainer at the Deauville Festival!

Our 2-year-olds led the way, with TOPGEAR (Wootton Bassett) winning both his debut in the highly esteemed Prix de Tancarville and the Class 2 Prix Irish River next time out. This exciting colt, who is owned by Hisaaki Saito looks to be a top-class prospect.

ROCCIA NERA (Dream Ahead), who carries the silks of Woodpark Bloodstock, was another 2-year-old winner again at Deauville. The filly was steered to victory by Stephane Pasquier in the Prix d’Argentan, a maiden race over 1,500m.

Another 2-year-old, MADEMOISELLE ROSE (Shalaa) finished third in another of the big maiden races of the Deauville meeting, the Prix de la Reboursière, in the colours of longtime collegue and supporter Frédéric Sauque.

The meeting began in fine style when Antoinette Tamagni’s WATCHMEN won the big handicap on the opening day of the meeting on the 1st August. On the same day, CELESTIN, in the colours of Normandie Pur-Sang, who finished a good 3rd in the Listed Prix St Delis – part of the Defi du Galop challenge series.

AFGHANY, owned in association by Tony Parker’s Infinity Nine Horses, Formula 1 driver Charles Leclerc, Beauregard Bloodstock and Clement Tropres, in the Prix Horsiz – a maiden for 3-year-olds, again at Clairefontaine.

Another 3-year-old maiden winner was GALACTICA, who also carries the colours of Normandie Pur-Sang, and who was victorious over 2,400m in the Prix des Pommiers.

ANGEL (Fastnet Rock), who is owned by Ecurie Ades Hazan, Haras d'Etreham and Catesby W. Clay, opened his scorecard on just the second attempt at Clairefontaine over 1.800m. He has finished 2nd on debut in Dieppe a month previously. BEL ARISTO (New Approach) added to the list of maiden winners in the month when winning the Prix Turgeon over 2,900m for Antoine Gilibert and Haras d’Haspel. Again in the green and yellow silks of Antoine Gilibert, PRINCE LANCELOT added a third win to his career total when taking the Class 1 Prix de Leaupartie at Deauville to close a successful meeting!

Racing was not just in Deauville this August, and the stable’s runners were in the spotlight across the country with AQUASTAR winning at Les Sables d’Olonne, VAL BASSETT crossing the line in front at Vichy, ALBA POWER at Lion d’Angers, and KILFRUSH MEMORIES winning at Dieppe!
