AUGUST FORM

A run of form in August has seen 6 winners from the yard in the last two weeks!

WATCHMEN led the way when scoring on the 1st August at Clairefontaine for owner Antoinette Tamagni.

The following day at Dieppe, the speedy and consistent KILFRUSH MEMORIES stormed to a win in a Class 2 race over 1,100m in the colours of Sydney Vidal. This tough performer brings his career earning to over €215,000!

Back at Clairefontaine for the 4th August, it was the 3-year-old colt AFGHANY’s turn in the winner’s enclosure. Owned by Infinity Nine Horses (the racing entity of basketball star Tony Parker), Formula 1 driver for Ferrari Charles Leclerc, Beauregard Bloodstock, Clement Tropres and Fabrice Chappet, this useful colt by sophomore sire The Gurkha had finished 2nd on three occasions before his convincing win in this 1,600-meter maiden.

It was next the turn of the new generation, and 2-year-old TOPGEAR, representing the silks of Hisaaki Saito, opened his scorecard on debut in impressive fashion when winning the highly regarded Prix de Tancarville at Deauville. By Wootton Bassett, TOPGEAR ran a very impressive time under jockey Stephane Pasquier, and is a very exciting prospect for his Japanese owner. TOPGEAR was an Arqana August Yearling Sale purchase, and this year’s sale begins tomorrow with an exciting catalogue of yearlings to head under the hammer.

GALACTICA, representing the Countess Bertrand de Tarragon, was in the spotlight the following day, marking her first win on just her third start in competition. She lifted the Prix des Pommiers, a 2,400m maiden, for her owner and breeder Ecurie Normandie Pur-Sang. She was also a new winner for Normandie Pur-Sang’s sire DABIRSIM.

So far August has seen 25 runners sent out from the yard, 6 of whom are winners, and 19 whom have finished in the money – a 76% strike rate!
