DIEPPE DOUBLE & A NEW 2YO WINNER

It was a successful weekend for the yard with two new winners, both having just their second start in competition, on Saturday evening at the seaside track of Dieppe.

Feeling Good 1.jpg

FEELING GOOD (2f Wootton Bassett x Forest Maiden), a 2-year-old filly who is owned by Ecurie Billon, Hubert Guy, Ecurie des Monnaies and Benoit Chalmel, opened her scorecard in the Prix des Arcades – a maiden race over 1,100 meters. Ridden by Mickael Barzalona, who also partnered her on her debut when 5th at Chantilly, she won impressively by a length. Facing 8 competitors, she sat  with cover in the early stages, she tracked the leaders until 350 meters from the post before coming with a strong run on the rail, pulling easily clear of her rivals. FEELING GOOD was an Arqana October Yearling purchase by part-owner Hubert Guy. She is by Wootton Bassett and out of Forest Maiden, herself a daughter of Prix de l’Opera (Gr1) heroine Lady Marian.

FOREST OF WISDOM (3g Iffraaj x Wiesenlerche) also put his first win on the board at Dieppe when taking the Prix Milord l’Arsouille (maiden) over 1,800 meters. Bred and owned by Rashit Shaykhutdinov, he sat at the rear of the field under jockey Thomas Trullier before making up ground rapidly on the outside. Coming off the final turn, he showed a smart acceleration in the short home straight to hit the front with 50 meters still to run. He ran strongly through the line, winning by 1 ½ lengths. The other runner for the yard, Jacky (Literato), in the colours of LG Bloodstock, came in third.

FOREST OF WISDOM is by Iffraaj and is the first foal out of the Adlerflug mare Wiesenlerche (adlerflug). This famous German « W » family is that of Arc victor Waldgeist (Galileo).
