THURSDAY DOUBLE

A pair of winning fillies

OMNIA MUNDA MUNDIS.jpg

Thursday saw a quick-fire double on the cards at one of France’s most charming tracks -Fontainebleau. First up was the 3-year-old filly BAVARIA BABY, in the colours of her breeder Ecurie Normanie Pur-Sang. This speedy filly, who is already multiple Listed placed, battled to the line to win the Prix Contessina, a class 1 race over 1,200 meters, by a nose. She was the only 3yo filly in the race, and she held off experienced and older sprinters to secure this competitive race. She has been hugely consistent throughout her career, having been in the money on 11 of her 13 starts and earning over €120,000! She is by Ecurie Normanie Pur-Sang’s own sire DABIRSIM.

The next race on the card, for newcomers, went to OMNIA MUNDA MUNDIS in impressive style. The 2-year-old filly, who is owned and bred by San Paolo Agri-Stud S.R.L, sat nice and relaxed in behind the leaders until the 500-meter post. Having to adjust her line to find the gap, she moved into the lead with 200 meters left to run and cruised to an effortless victory despite showing some greenness. A very promising debut for this filly! By Australia, she is a sister to ROCQUES, winner of the Gr.3 Prix d’Aumale, to and multiple winner KING PACHA, both of whom were trained by Fabrice.
