A Listed treble at ParisLongchamp!

Following yesterday’s Listed victory, the first three home in the Prix de Saint-Cyr, a Listed race for 3-year-olds, were all trained by Fabrice! Speak Of The Devil, in the colours of Rashit Shaykhutdinov, was the ½ length winner in front of Mageva, who is owned by Antoine Gilibert, with Kraquante coming in third for AGV Karwin Stud and Ecurie Bartok.

Speak Of The Devil and Mageva, both of whom are by Wootton Bassett, previously faced each other in the Poule d’Essai des Pouliches (Gr1), where they finished 2nd and 3rd respectively – Speak Of The Devil only going down by a nose in the French Classic in an agonizingly close finish. Kraquante, a winner as a 2-year-old, notched up her first all-important black type, having run close in Stakes company previously.

Speak Of The Devil, ridden by Cristian Demuro sat just behind stable companion Kraquante in mid-division in this 1,600m contest, with Mavega in behind the leaders under Stephane Pasquier. Switched to the outside in the straight, Speak Of The Devil powered down the straight, whilst Mavega showed her brilliant acceleration to hit the lead. Meanwhile, Kraquate, in the hands of Vincent Cheminaud, came up the rail to chase Mavega. Inside the final furlong Speak Of The Devil flew to join her stable mate, and these two top-class fillies thrilled in a tightly fought finish. Kraquante showed great determination to hold on to her third place and give the yard an unprecedented 1-2-3 in this Stakes event!
