1st – Prix des Orchidées (Maiden) – Lyon-Parilly

Purchased for €400,000 at the Arqana breeze-up sale, Morena Queen (Too Darn Hot) is both the first acquisition and first runner for owner Jean Moran. A good fifth on debut in the Prix de Lisieux (Debutantes), she then finished fourth in the Prix de Fierville (Maiden), both over 1,200m on Deauville’s straight course. Against strong fields, it took an extra 150m and a turning track for Morena Queen to finally get off the mark.
