BUBBLE GUM KEEPS THE DREAM ALIVE
------------
April 25, 2024
1st Prix de la Madeleine (Class 2) – Longchamp
Bubble Gum (Cloth of Stars) was very impressive as she secured the second victory of her career in this Class 2 race. In a contest led by Teeran (Kingman), Bubble Gum was settled in second-to-last position. In the home straight, her jockey angled her out early but waited until she was properly balanced before asking her to quicken. After changing leads 250m from the post, she showed a strong turn of foot and responded well to Christophe Soumillon’s urging, going on to narrowly beat Teeran.
The filly, bred and owned by Rashit Shaykhutdinov, holds an entry in the Prix de Diane Longines (Gr1).
Fabrice Chappet’s analysis :
"She’s a filly we like a lot. She had previously won well on very testing ground, so we needed to see her again on softer going. Today, she confirms her quality. It’s still early in the year. She’s entered in the Diane because her debut was very promising. Now, she needs to climb the ranks, but she’s doing everything we ask of her. »
