1re Prix d’Hotot-en-Auge (Inédites) - Deauville

Bonnet (Sea the Moon) made an excellent impression on debut at Deauville, landing the Prix d’Hotot-en-Auge (1600m) in confident fashion under Stéphane Pasquier. Calm in the preliminaries, she delivered a smart and professional performance, justifying the strong reports heard beforehand.

Racing wide towards the rear early on, the Fiona Jean Carmichael-owned filly was angled out turning for home and showed a smart turn of foot to reel in Galène (Sea the Moon). Once in front, Bonnet stayed on powerfully to score by two lengths, earning herself the JDG Rising Star label.

“She’s a beautiful filly—well bred, well bought. She’d been working very well in the mornings and was ready to run. She’s straightforward, has a turn of foot, and handles better ground too. She should make a nice 3-year-old next year. She’ll go for a break now.”
