DEBUTANTE DOUBLE AT SAINT-CLOUD

------------

The Chappet Racing team fielded five runners this afternoon at Saint-Cloud (24th June) and we were delighted to come away from the Parisian course with two nice winners, who are both owned and bred by long-standing yard supporter Rashit Shaykhutdinov.

In the opener GAIN IT showed an excellent attitude to make a winning debut in the Prix Allee d’Amour. One of seven fillies in the line-up, Gain It had to bide her time against the rail and was still searching for racing room with 300m to race, under jockey Sylvain Ruis. Once in the clear, she showed plenty of resilience and squeezed through to lead close home, before going on to score readily.

We are excited about her future, especially as she is out of Gargarina, which makes her a full-sister to Gregarina who finished second for the yard at Listed level two weeks ago. She is also a half-sister to Gargarin’s Moon, a talented gelding who has now won four races for Chappet Racing.

Just over an hour later, three-year-old PLEASANT JANE put in an attractional performance to win the Prix Fourire by a short head on her racecourse debut. In what looked a good maiden on paper, Pleasant Jane picked off her rivals steadily through the race and gamely battled off the late challenge of the runner-up, to make a winning start to her career, again, under Sylvain Ruis.

Now on the twenty-eight winner mark for the season, todays double puts the whole team at Chappet Racing in good spirits as we head into a busy weekend, with eleven runners coming up over the next few days.
