PLESANT JANE TOUGHS IT OUT FOR LISTED SUCCESS

------------

As racing returned to ParisLongchamp last weekend, the team enjoyed yet a second black-type winner in a week thanks to the Rashit Shaykhutdinov owned homebred Plesant Jane (Pivotal), who took the Listed Prix Zarkava.

A highly successful three-year-old who was victorious on her debut last term, Plesant Jane had finished in the top three on each of her five runs to date, winning on two occasions. Boasting a rating of 43.5 coming into the season, big black-type was always the objective for the year with her and we are glad to have secured it for her owner, who is a great supporter of the yard.

Stepping up to 2,100m for the first time, Plesant Jane was sharply away from her inside draw and travelled towards the fore throughout under Christophe Soumillon. Tough inside the closing stages, Plesant Jane courageously held on to score by a short head at the line.

Now on a rating of 45, Plesant Jane holds an entry in the Gr.3 Prix Allez France at the end of April and could well be her next outing. A filly on an upward curve, there is no telling how far she can go and the whole team, as well as her owner, are looking forward to the season ahead with her.
