Classic form!

OLD TRIP puts in a top-level performance
in the Juddmonte Grand Prix de Paris (Gr.1)

In the colours of Jean-Louis Bouchard, GOLD TRIP maintained Fabrice’s excellent strike rate in Classic races when finishing third in the Juddmonte Grand Prix de Paris (Gr1) at ParisLongchamp on Sunday, picking up
over €50,000 in the process! Winner of the Prix Greffulhe (Gr2) in June, he was then very unlucky
in the Prix du Jockey Club (Gr1). Partnered here once again by jockey Stephane Pasquier, GOLD TRIP put in
an excellent performance for his first run over the mile and a half trip to beat home this year’s Epsom Derby winner SERPENTINE! Finishing strongly, he chased the eventual winner MOGUL all the way to the line,
and only just lost out on second place by a short head.

Fabrice Chappet and Gérard Larrieu spoke to Jour de Galop after the race: "All the credit goes to Jean-Louis Bouchard who loved him as a yearling at the sales." GOLD TRIP was bought for €60,000 at the 2018 Arqana August Yearling Sale by Gérard Larrieu for owner Jean-Louis Bouchard, who commented: "I remained confident in Stéphane Pasquier after the Prix du Jockey Club where things didn't go too well. That’s my only merit. Racing
is a sport and we need to continue to give opportunities to those who own up to their mistakes. We have plenty
of nice race options for Gold Trip over 2,400m and further. I like the idea of keeping him in training as a 4-year-old as he is a good horse.
